Ingredients:

  • cream cheese – Any brand of cream cheese will do, however, we recommend full-fat for maximum flavor. Keep cream cheese on the counter for 30 minutes to soften before using to keep this pumpkin dip light and fluffy.
  • vanilla instant pudding – Bring on the pudding! This ingredient is essential for adding thickness and flavor.
  • heavy cream – Heavy cream makes all the difference in this dip! There is no substitution.
  • canned pumpkin – Bring on the pumpkin! Any brand will do. If you’re super ambitious you can use fresh pureed pumpkin (leftovers from Halloween!?).
  • ground cinnamon – This holiday staple is probably already in your kitchen, but did you know you can make your own ground cinnamon!?
  • ground nutmeg – Must-have for rounding out the flavors of pumpkin pie…did we say YUM!? (We did!).

What to Dip in Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dip

Apple slices, vanilla wafers, and homemade graham crackers are our favorite dippers of choice for this yummy dessert dip, however, these dippers also work well:

How to Store Pumpkin Dip

This dessert dip can be served immediately after preparation. If making in advance or if there are leftovers, transfer the dip to an airtight container with a secure lid and place it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. We love these glass containers with locking lids for storing dips! Be sure to give the dip a good stir before reserving.

Tips for Making Pumpkin Dip

  • Avoid Freezing: As this pumpkin pie dip contains cream cheese it doesn’t freeze well due to changes in texture and consistency. It’s best to enjoy the dip fresh and not freeze it – refrigeration is OK!
